New in version 4.0

  • FTP Sites - FTP Sites have been introduced to separate the connection information from the Scripts to execute.  This, combined with FTP Sessions, allows for one Site to be defined and used to execute multiple scripts.
  • FTP Sessions - FTP Sessions have been introduced to separate the session information from the Scripts to execute. An FTP Session references an FTP Site and a Script to perform a specific set of FTP Functionality. All FTP Session Executions can be logged for review and auditing.
  • FTP Server Users - FTP Server Users have been introduced to separate and secure the User IDs and Passwords from the FTP Site Connection information. This makes it much easier to change the User IDs and Passwords that are used by the system. Also, by having the User and Password information in a separate location than the Server information, it further secures the information. Include that with UFTP's encrypted passwords, and your FTP connectivity is secure within UFTP.
  • FTP Command Prompting - Don't worry about knowing FTP commands any longer. Use UFTPs command prompting to provide you with easy to understand prompts that automatically build the FTP commands in the background. Optionally, if you feel the need, you can review the commands generated in the background and learn how to do some of the difficult FTP tasks.
  • Improved Windows User Interface - The Windows User Interface has been completely rebuilt utilizing Surround Technologies own Frameworks For Windows Development Tool making it more robust and intuitive.
  • Expanded Field Lengths - All of the limiting Field Values such as User ID, Password, Commands, etc. have been expanded to 250 characters.
  • Auto-Recovery - Additional Controls have been added to Auto-Recovery to specify the delay time between each recovery attempts and the time to halt recovery attempts.
  • System Variable enhancements
    • User Defined Variables - New System Variable will save you time by improving Script Maintenance and re-usability.
    • User ID and Password Variables - New System Variables to link to the FTP Server User File to use them within Script Commands. Also, UFTP will clear all password information from the script execution logs to further secure this information.
    • Multiple System Variable use per command - You can now specify the same system variable more than once in a single command.
    • External Script File Variable - Want to include your own set of commands on the fly. No problem. Put them in a designated file and include this system variable in your script.
  • Execution Failure Identification - The Execution History Log has been enhanced to provide moredetailed information as to the nature of and reason for script failure.
  • Re-execute Script Executions - It is now possible to re-execute a previously run execution using the same commands that were used in that execution. This is particularly useful when system variables are used within the command to dynamically create the commands based on information such as dates and times at execution.
  • Many New Sample Scripts Available - Use and learn from these sample scripts to make you even more productive in using UFTP.

New System File Exchange (SFE) Module

  • A completely new application integrated with UFTP to provide File Exchanges between multiple Systems. A great solution for sharing files in a controlled and secure environment.
  • Partner Set-up and Administration - Manage who files are exchanged with and how they are exchanged.
  • File Loading - Load files to SFE for exchanging to other Systems.
  • File Exchange - Both Send and Retrieve files between partners. Exchange can be initiated by either System.
  • File Unloading - Unload files that were exchanged to SFE.
  • Reporting/Auditing - Monitor and report on exchange status and traffic.
