Surround Technologies Announces LANSA 2005 Initiatives

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – July 26, 2005 – Surround Technologies is leaping into LANSA 2005 with multiple strategic initiatives that take full advantage of the technological advancements of LANSA’s latest product offering.

Having built multi-platform applications in LANSA for 13 years, Surround Technologies is excited to move to LANSA 2005 as its primary development tool due to the new technology available in the product release, according to Surround Technologies Founding President, Lee Paul.

“LANSA has always provided an environment that had several levels of magnitude of productivity over other approaches,” Paul said. “And now, LANSA 2005 is a vast improvement over that, leaving other tools in the dust.”

According to Paul, his company went live with several LANSA 2005-built applications weeks before the newest LANSA offering was made available to the general public, and weeks before the LANSA User Conference showcasing the new toolset took place. “Our developers have been working with LANSA 2005, including its controlled beta and early releases, since November 2004,” Paul said.

Surround Technologies’ LANSA 2005 projects already in production include the following:

  • An interactive WAM-based Web application for United Consumer Financial Services (UCFS).
  • A remote Prize Registration System that allowed LANSA User Conference participants to register on the Surround Technologies Web site utilizing their Pocket PCs.
  • A prototype of Surround Technologies’ WAM based Contact Management system.

Additionally, Surround Technologies is moving forward on several more strategic initiatives for the LANSA 2005 product:

  • LANSA 2005 Mentoring Practice: Having already guided a number of LANSA development shops already, we have established a LANSA 2005 Mentoring Practice designed to get your team up and going very quickly with your LANSA 2005 projects.
  • Envision Visual LANSA Accelerator Certification: We have fully tested LANSA 2005 (and its latest updates) with the Visual LANSA Accelerator product and all other Surround Technologies products developed using Visual LANSA Accelerator. All testing is progressing as expected and certification should be completed soon. This extensive testing will save Visual LANSA Accelerator clients thousands of dollars in their own testing costs.
  • Envision Product Suite Upgrade to LANSA 2005: As soon as Visual LANSA Accelerator is fully certified with LANSA 2005, we will be releasing new versions of all our products using the LANSA 2005 environment.
  • Today’s Business Computers’ Casino Enterprise Management Upgrade: We will be working very closely with Today's Business Computers, a Visual LANSA Accelerator client, to upgrade and release their software using the LANSA 2005 environment
  • Envision Visual LANSA WAM Accelerator: We have already started working on enhancements to our Visual LANSA Accelerator tool to generate Web-based versions of our system using LANSA 2005 WAM technology. The initial generated system will be based on the Contact Management WAM prototype
  • Envision Product Suite Upgrade to WAMs: Using the Visual LANSA WAM Accelerator, Web-based version of many of our systems will be created.
  • Surround Technologies Automatic Replenishment System: STARS is a collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment system designed to fully optimize the supply chain by better forecasting the demand. The system uses daily sales information from stores along with hundreds of other variables to accurately forecast the quantity of product needed for order generation and fulfillment.
