BLOOMFIELD, NJ – December 2, 1999 – Surround Technologies, LLC unveils Universal FTP Interface System (UFTP) Version 2.0, a powerful file transfer automation utility for AS/400e and now Windows.

UFTP allows users to easily receive, send and manage data files between local and remote hosts regardless of the host platform type or operating system. This product simplifies the standard FTP process by automating the distribution and management of data over the Internet either interactively or in an unattended batch mode. UFTP is very useful in automating and tracking FTP sessions as well as scheduling file transfer during network traffic off peak hours.

With Version 2, all the power of UFTP on the AS/400 is now available on Windows as well. You can now manage, automate and track FTP sessions over your entire network from one system. In addition to the 5250 interface, you can now use a standard Windows interface to utilize all the FTP facilities on multiple AS/400s and/or Windows 95,98,NT machines. In addition to the Windows integration, Surround Technologies have also added a number of usability enhancements making the system even easier and more flexible.
