ST Launches UFTP Product at LANSA User Conference

CHICAGO, IL – June 23, 1999 – Surround Technologies LLC announced the release of their newest product developed in Visual LANSA, Universal File Transfer Protocol Interface System (UFTP).

UFTP is the second product released by ST in as many months using LANSA's latest version software.

"The timing couldn't be better," announced Lee Paul, CEO and Surround Technologies Partner. "We burned the midnight oil to have this product available for Bell Atlantic and for general availability at the LANSA User Conference in June."

While developing UFTP, Surround Technologies was also busy going live with one of their Freight Management Systems customers.

UFTP allows users to create and modify FTP Client Scripts that can be executed interactively or in an unattended batch mode. The FTP Client Scripts contain all of the connection information along with a sequenced list of FTP Commands and recovery procedures to handle interrupted connections.

"This system is very useful in automating interactive FTP sessions, as well as scheduling off-peak hour transfers," said CEO Paul. "Future plans call for the development of Internet and Web interfaces and UNIX integration."
