About Surround Technologies, LLC
The heart of the Surround Technologies Team has been together doing custom software development since 1991, and through the years has built an application development expertise with depth and breadth. By 1997, it was clear that our destinies we’re hopelessly intertwined and we succumbed to that to form Surround Technologies. We are able to still be privately-held through a careful managed-growth philosophy that has rewarded us with measured and consistent performance through boom years and beyond. Being privately held also allows us to hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethics and customer service, by not having to answer to bean-counters, but rather, to what is the right thing to do for our customers.
Since those early years of doing custom software together, we have been developing in a software environment known as LANSA for its power and flexibility. With 15 years of working experience with the LANSA Products, we have become very well known in the LANSA Community. Driven by our client needs, Surround was an early adopter of Visual LANSA. In fact, we were the first company to release a Visual LANSA developed application into production.
Since forming Surround Technologies, our development efforts moved to establishing a planned, structured, and standard centric methodology, and the strong commitment to the methodology shows in our meticulous documentation standards. We began releasing tools for development and they grew and evolved. Today, we offer a range of Application Development Tool Sets, Reusable Application Modules, and complete Applications under the Envision brand name. Surround’s centerpiece product, Envision Accelerator for Visual LANSA, sets the pace for next-generation acceleration of application development. Accelerator enables previously-unknown power and simplicity for point-and-click assembly of custom applications. And together with LANSA, we implement powerful new technologies, like XML/XSL, that permit fast and simple deployment to the Web, PDA’s, Cell Phones and more.
The extra dimension of Surround Technologies that makes us much more than a Software House is our Professional Services division. They participate in most of our sales as we find that clients typically are not trying to buy tools, but implement application solutions, and our renowned Consultants bridge that gap. A client may want a small dose of Mentoring and Training to bring their internal staff up to speed quickly with the LANSA and Surround products. Or the client may need extensive staff and skill augmentation for a heavily taxed IT group to bring the new environment into the clear for them. Either way, our focus is on complementing what you have to help you get to where you want, as productively and effectively as possible. This approach is the basis for our motto, “Relax . . .
